Tlingit musician and songwriter Archie Cavanaugh from Juneau, Alaska has released his third CD entitled, Alaska Jazz . Archie was born and raised in Kake, a Tlingit village about 90 miles south of Juneau. Archie writes and sings all of his music working closely with his wife Melinda as his co-lyricist. On this CD, Archie went to his roots of growing up in a village of Tlingit-speaking people, incorporating the Tlingit language on two of these pop jazz songs. These elements were blended together as the water is to the fish in the sea. When titling the CD Archie and Melinda decided on Alaska Jazz to emulate Alaskans as being unique and Alaska for being known as the last frontier. These songs are their own style of Alaska Jazz .
